Elizabeth Bowie Christoforetti from Supernormal, an architecture/urban design/research firm, and Anital Lauricella from the Downtown Boston Improvement District (the BID) will be sharing how they are modeling and using the large amounts of data available today to not only make decisions about our built environment in the Boston area, but also to engage more citizens to take part in those decisions.

Elizabeth Bowie Christoforetti launched her architecture/urban design/research firm, Supernormal, following her research at MIT Media Lab’s Social Computing Group. She and Anital will share with us how clients like the BID and Boston’s Urban Mechanics group are using the data. Conversely, she also has clients with a specific tenant profile that are using Supernormal’s algorithms to find the right locations across the country, based on new types of data sets and spatial/ urban design test-fits.

Come engage with your fellow members, enjoy lunch and learn what is meant by “urban design test-fits”. (I’m 62, gimme a break.)
